Hi, I'm Gabrielle
My Story
Starting at a young age I focused on the lifelong goal of becoming the best horseman that I could be. As a toddler I was introduced to horses and by the time I was a young teenager I sought every working student in as many different barns as I could, while fully caring for and training my own horses in the Hunter and Equitation disciplines with Mary Rae Fuller of Prairie Fox Farm. I worked my way to A level show medal classes, and eventually into a working student position with Bob and Debbie McDonald, an Olympic and international dressage competitor and eventual US teams Dressage Development coach and Technical Advisor.
In college I pursued degrees in Equine Facility Management and Design as well as Equine Pre-Veterinary Sciences, while competing on the Otterbein College IHSA team in Hunt Seat Equitation and Combined Training. After returning to Boise I worked for several years at the Idaho Equine Hospital in Nampa, Idaho and received a certification as an appraiser for the American Society of Equine Appraisers, while starting my own lesson and training business, Carriage Step Stable, that ran from 2003 until 2020. The Carriage Step program was well known for its diverse and capable lesson horse string that I developed using project horses I found along the way, training them be competitive show horses and safe and solid teachers for all levels and abilities of riders. Many of my horse and rider pairs have won Boise Saddle and Jump Club Division Championships and Reserve Championships in all levels of classes, and many of my former students have moved on to be nationally and internationally competitive in Equitation and Eventing disciplines. I have bolstered my training experience as the trainer at the Idaho Horse Rescue.
I am thrilled to launch my lesson and training porgram at the new Corner Stone facility, which I planned, designed and built using my extensive expertise in Equine Facility Management. I take pride in developing well rounded and safe horses, and knowledgeable, competent horseman, whether their goals are to reach the highest levels of competition or to just simply enjoy the horses as a hobby.
